Honolulu City Council chair Tommy Waters is running for a third term thanks to a loophole in the county charter. But should we even have legislative term limits? The real problem with our political system is the corrupting influence of money—and term limits don’t actually address that. In fact, they can make things worse, while robbing voters of their democratic right to choose.
